How often do you go outside to hang out? How much quality time do you spend with your family? I'm willing to bet the answer to those is not very often. The reason I wanted you to think about those things is because I also want you to think of why we don't tend to do those things as often anymore and the answer is because of technology. We have become so obsessed with our personal devices that we have forgotten how to get up and out of the house, out of our comfort zone. Just try taking a day to really appreciate the non-digital world around you. Play a card game with some friends or family, get out and play with a younger sibling if you have one, go swimming, play a sport. There's so many other things to do than sit around on social media or playing video games all day. just get off your device, get off now.

Is American Sign Language just a visual version of English? I think not! ASL is often thought of as a visual version of English but it isn't. Think about it, you learn other languages such as French or Spanish by converting English words/sentences into the other language. Well you do the same thing for ASL. Just because its called "American" Sign Language doesn't mean it isn't a foreign language. Believe it or not, There's a HUGE difference in culture with Deaf people than there is with hearing people, even if both the Deaf and hearing people are American. For example, Deaf people tend to come off as "rude" or "inconsiderate" because of how blunt they can be. If your outfit sucks, they will tell you straight up that it sucks, but to other Deaf people that type of statement is thought of as normal. So next time you think Deaf people are the same as us hearing people, think again, because we live in a completely different world compared to them.
Nowadays people have grown out of the basic art, of sitting there with just a paintbrush and canvas in front of you. Everything is now digital. People have come more accustomed to digital imaging and Photoshop. Less and less people are enjoying the magic of art made by hand, not 1's and 0's. One of the benefits to art made by hand is it requires more thought, more concentration, therefore waking up your brain and activating your creativity. Also, by doing this, it forces out all other thoughts you may have roaming around in your head. It relieves stress and gives you a break from they real world, the digital world, the constant hustle and bustle of our daily lives. So every now and again, set down your phone, shut down the computer, and pick up a pencil or paintbrush and start creating something wonderful.
